A thermal runaway envelope is a flight deck mitigation accessory designed to address incidents involving thermal runaways in lithium-ion batteries, such as those often used in EFBs. The envelope allows pilots to quickly enclose, dismount and remove the malfunctioning tablet from the flight deck, helping to mitigate the consequences of an in-flight thermal runaway.
