I work in HVAC, so in need a robust case that’s good for managing heat. As I’m often using my I-pad outside. High solar loads can mean tablets and I-phones lock out on excessive heat. So we have to be constantly managing the tablets. So I picked a light colour as black cases cause the heat issue to be worse. Also picked a bright colour (yellow)?so it’s easy to spot amongst tools and equipment. Also less likely for someone to step on it or place told on top.
So far this has been a huge improvement over the otter box I had. The gap and vents at the back of the case help a lot. When I did have one overhead event. This case allowed the I-pad to cool down much quicker than the otterbox ever did.
Only reason for 4stars instead of 5 is I wish there was a lighter colour option folio cover (again to avoid heat build up)
The case looks professional and well made. It doesn’t look like a kids toy even in yellow. The folio has a good solid feel with rubber faces. Un clipping the folio is quick and easy.As is reattaching it. Good positive click that confirms it’s clipped in securely. The folio flips round to either to support the IPad at an angle or holds itself magnetically flat against the back of the case. It holds quite well over the front of the tablet when it’s not in use
The case is light. It has ridges around the apertures for things like the volume buttons. So giving a little more protection around those areas.
I like the window where you can fit a label with my contact info.So it’s identifiable and that looks professional as well.
I’ve had a customer remark how he initially thought I was using some high tech tool and how it didn’t look like I was using an I-pad.
The shaped rear of the case allows the fingers to hold the case well. The main plastic body is quite smooth and only lightly textured. So it’s easy to keep clean.
The I-pad is really easy to fit into it, but it’s really gripped in there well if you try to remove it. No small plastic tabs to worry about breaking.
Don’t have any accessories. A mount for use in the work truck looks useful. Curious if the knee strap would work well. Somewhere to hold the tablet while my hands are busy as I’m working around a piece of equipment. Although a magnetic mount would be definitely useful. Almost all the equipment I work on has steel panels.
It’s a bit more expensive than I was anticipating to spend on a replacement case. However it’s a big improvement on the defender case I had which isn’t that much cheaper to buy. So far the Pivot seems worth the money. It allows me to work better with a significant tool so that’s good value for money.
I’m impressed and happy with this case.
